Taken from Men’s Health Magazine:

1) When were you exhilerated about your work?

2) What major mistake from your past do you not regret?

3) What’s your favorite movie?

4) What’s a misconception people have about you?

5) In 5 years, how will you justify having taken this job?

TOBY what’s so great about them? Movie? So what. How do you know what you’re going to be thinking five years from now.

Alright….maybe great is a little strong, but I thought they were somewhat interesting and better than most of the interview questions people recommend asking. I liked the movie question because it’s slightly offbeat without being ridiculous. I also happen to like movies a lot and think the types of movies people enjoy say a lot about the person. As far as projecting where you’ll be in 5 years…..of course no one knows. The point with most ‘where-will-you-be’ questions is to see how well people can think ahead, how planned their career path is, how detailed their thinking is, how rigid or freewheeling they are, etc. What I like about the 5th question in the list is that it’s a future-looking question but brought back to the current job opening. I just thought it was an interesting twist to an over-used question.
