RSSCalendar.com has put itself up for sale on ebay with a minimum bid of $50,000. Though it’s probably been done before, I’ve never seen a start-up company pursue such an exit strategy. RSS Calendar allows users to create and share web-based calendars using RSS feeds. With 25,000 registered users having posted 500,000 stored calendar events, the site generates 2.3 million pageviews per month from 800,000 unique visitors. The auction ends June 12th. Regardless of how the auction turns out for RSSCalendar, it’s just another example among billions of the web transforming the way people do business.
